Learning objectives: explain the purpose of different approaches to qualitative sampling, compare compare and contrast 5 qualitative research methods, justify the selection of a method based on chosen methodology and research philosophy. Not a mathematical process not concerned with number of participants. Focused on understanding the concept of inquiry. The point at which there are no new ideas and insights emerging from the data. The researcher sees strong repetition in the themes they have already observed and articulated. This involves the researcher immersing themselves in the daily lives and routines of those being studied. This often requires extensive work in the setting being studied field work. Researcher relied on what they can see or what they have witness (observe) to gain information and knowledge about their topic instead of communicating with people. Collect where and when and the phenomenon is occurring. Not on participate experience of the event.
