Document Summary

Intercostal arteirs comes off of thoracic, and supply intercostal muscles: azygous system azygous vein runs ontop of vertebral body, common iliac splits into internal and external. Internal supplies reproductive organs: external carres most of the blood to the lower limb, passes deep to inguinal ligament into the lower limb. Femoral carries down all the way through the femur: deep femoral branches off to supply the posterior compartment, branches off to lateral and medial circumflex, a lot of collateral circulation happened around head of femur. Runs anterior to the medial malleolus: longer, clinical correlate reusing vessels for cardiac bypass, an incision can be made to take a chuck of great saphenous vein to attach to aorta. 2: calf pump helps get blood back to heart for deep veins of lower limbs, when the muscle contracts the pressure forces the vein to open and shoots the blood up. When the muscle relaxes it stops the blood from flowing back.
