Reason it comes in sport is b/c common perspectives of male v. female are very different. Rifle shooting used to be considered a male sport. Until a female won - then they split it into male v. female (didn"t want females beating males in a typically male sport) Threat to gender roles - traditional masculine skill. About gender skill and abilities or gender bias. Best & worst females are closer than best & worst males. Larger gap b/w best & worst male athlete. Majority of female weight is waist down (lower center of gravity) More subcutaneous fat, reproductive organs are internal (not external) If you look at anatomy females are more equip for contact sports. However - socially they are less accepted to being viewed as getting. Best male is always better than best female. But females can still be better than males. Need to play in men"s leagues to improve their skills further.
