All gametes are developed before you are born, males don"t start producing sperm till puberty. Male ejaculate several hundred million sperm, women ovulate one ovum. Needed for monthly cycle, development of inner layer of uterus for fertilization. Uterine tubes drops over the ovaries, attached to the uterus. Follicles stay there until puberty and hormone levels increase allowing for follicles to mature. On day 14, the graafian follicle with an antum (fluid filled cavity) and ovulation occurs. Ovulation ovulating a singly oocyte in the peritoneal pelvic cavity. Fallopian tubes envelopes it and moves it with finger like projections toward the uterus. Ampulla where the sperm and egg meet to make a zygote occurs other places 1/10 times. Fimbria finger like projections sweep up the oocyte that was. Mesosalpinx upperhalf vs mesvarium, supports the uterine tubes also known as fallopian tubes. Lateral cervical ligament supports cervix and proximal part of the vagina. Travels in the suspensory ligament of the ovary.
