Document Summary

Biking tends to help adults get their exercise. It is easy on the body (low impact--good for bad knees). Try to get yourself into situations where you can be more active; biking/walking to work, driving less so then it fits into your day more easily instead of having to set aside time for cardio. Critical power testing: the power output that can be sustained indefinitely; the highest work rate that you can maintain. The higher the work rate, the shorter the duration but as the work rate decreases, the duration increases until you reach a work rate that you can sustain. All the work you can perform above critical power is associated with anaerobic metabolism. This means that if the area under the curve is your anaerobic capacity (how much work you can do anaerobically). This is a good test to see if you are improving your anaerobic capacity.
