Document Summary

Labs--test to give an overall appraisal of fitness in a non research lab setting. The tests we do are step test, treadmill and cycle. These are faster so we can have a large number of people involved. Electrocardiography--understanding the heart and how the body is responding. Using skin calipers (actually measures something), bmi (very quick but less accurate) and bio electric impedance (quick but not as accurate). Strength and flexibility--daily function, activity, strength becomes an issue as you get older (shovelling, groceries, etc. ) Collect a lot of data on yourself and compare to the norms. Coupling, metabolism, respiration and cardiac output but depends on all of them. Ecg--the electrical activity of the heart which dictates function of the heart and cardiac output. This gives equations that allow us to generate the % body fat from body density. At the end of each section, will look at a journal article.
