Ancient olympic games: let the games begin documentary. Olympia is where the olympics first took place. 430 bc the games are already 300 years old. Earliest recorded games day included only a foot race, grew too much greater heights. Many of the athletes participated in warfare, the athletics reflected this as many of their sports were very violent. A few words from pindar and anyone will believe that you were godlike. 1 full month spent in training before the olympic games. The one reason to go to the games was for winning. Not very morally stable as cheating was rampant amongst these games. Chariot races were often the source of much cheating. Cheating was a high risk game because the gods were watching. Greek gods thought of as superior humans with similar interests. If humans like sports the gods must also like sports and therefore held sports competititons in their honour.
