Competence + control + value & importance = motivation. Domains increase and become more differentiated with maturity. Role of social support as a facilitator. Focus on promoting healthy, adaptive commitment to sport. Applicable to behavioural variations in choice, persistence and performance in youth (then the actual execution of the behaviour)
