Document Summary

Motor development: the study of movement behaviour and the underlying processes across the lifespan. There are now more people over the age of 65 than there are people under age 14. With aging there are changes in: motor skills, working and long term memory, sensory mechanisms (ie. sensory feedback, visual acuity), balance, movement speed, coordination, strength, processing speed etc. These will all happen as one ages but there are differences in how quickly these changes occur. A decline in any of these will impact the subsequent portions of the model. All of these portions are effected by aging. 85% of people over 45 are likely to work past 65 (retirement age) With age, working ability due to the decline in cognition and motor skills may impact work performance. Compared young adult workers and older adult workers after cognitive task training over 3 months.
