Obesity and overweight (especially visceral fat) is common. Previously called adult onset diabetes but now is has escalated to all age groups including children. The age adjusted mortality rates are 1. 5-2. 5 times greater in diabetics than in other people! This is mainly due to: heart disease in caucasians, renal disease in asians and first nations/native americans.
