Re-enacted the bna and changed it to the constitution of canada. First time ever, we had a formalized conceptualized amendment process. What is federalism: constitutional structure of government, government jurisdiction shared by two levels of government. Informal way: process that is known as cooperative federalism (provinces and the federal government will get together and they will decide about enacting an agreement to change/amend that given constitutional law) Informal/formal way: judicial interpretation: federalism: two or more levels of government. Canada: three levels of government (federal, provincial, municipal) Constitutionally speaking, municipal governments do not show up on our constitution. Federalism in the world: united sates- centralized, switzerland decentralized, canada in between. Czechoslovakia: canada started off with the idea of being centralized, over time (due to size and population) with help from judicial interpretation, we became more decentralized. Build east and west links instead of north and south.
