Law 2101 family law family life in canada. Most people live their lives same way as their parents. We see married ppl as family even if they don"t have children we see parents raising kids alone, we see same sex marriages . marriage has changed throughout history and so has the vision of family. No such thing as a typical family today. 85 % of canadians lived in private households with someone to whom they are related. Births have been increasing but are still 1/4 less than it was during baby boom. Women have average less than 2 babies and have them later and its lower than the replacement rate to have population stable (not including immigration) so having immigration keeps population proper. Has aging population bc less births and higher life expectancy. Husband wife and child isn"t the majority anymore. Common law families have been increasing the fastest. Majority of lone parent families headed by mothers.
