Activate b cells to independent and t dependent antigens. Understand the ways in which b cell can contribute to an immune response. Humoral = soluble fluid that is not cellular. Bcr signaling complex: cross linking vs. monomer antigen. Cd40/cd40 ligand interactions with t cells: antigen presenting cell function. Cytokines class switch from igm: cytokines influence what the response looks like via class switch, ig d and ig m are expressed by mature b cells. You need activated from 2/3 signals or one really strong signal. Antigen coupled to a tlr ligand: antigen-lps, antigen-dna complexes. Antigens that are themselves tlr ligands: lps, bacterial dna, flagellin. Na ve be cells express low levels of tlrs: very high concentrations of tlr ligand causes polyclonal activation. Results in expansion and ab (igm) production. It means if you hit shit hard enough, you will activate it.
