Assumptions: statements that describe/connect concepts, assumptions laid out in theory help describe beliefs/goals. Internal compass nurses use to guide their practice. There are different ways to categorize theories (as models, concepts, etc. ) Links science, philosophy, and theory to define practice. Individual with whom the nurses is interacting in a therapeutic manner. More than 1 (family, small groups, communities, populations, etc. ) Unique, autonomous and should be treated so. Not merely an object of professional care. Optimal level of ones potential in relating to the environment. Large and general concept: approached from really diverse perspectives. Any place where a therapeutic relationship occurs.
