Recognizing limits of what you know and can do. Being humble and open to learn: open mindedness. Willingness to accept all perspectives as a possibility. You don"t have to believe all perspectives. Choosing own beliefs while maintaining an open mind: non judgmental attitude. Be aware of what is happening inside of you. How feelings and gut reactions are influencing the information you choose. Acquisition and use of information from both formal sources (textbooks, scholarly readings, lectures) and from experience. Use ways of knowing to understand how complex a clients situation is. Replacing fear of the unknown with curiosity. If we understand the clients story we will get to know them.
