There have been 3 major approaches to health enhancement: biomedical, behavioral, and socio-environmental. Although these approaches emerged at different points in time, they are still present to varying degrees in the health field, depending on one"s area of practice. Health professionals may find themselves alternating among them at different times and for different purposes.
