Pain is so important that we need to assess it as frequently as vital signs. When you have uncontrolled pain, you don(cid:495)t sleep well, you don(cid:495)t eat well : healing will be delayed - pain affects the outcomes of your health the whole system is affected. 2: sudden onset, stabbing pain, defined event (a fracture , delay recovery prolonged hospitalization, uncontrolled pain, surgery, broken limb, should resolve, more of a physiological process - the body is trying to tell us something is wrong.
