Primary health care: focuses on: delivery of services, emphasis on people at centre of care, social and environmental, prevention is always cheaper. 5 core principles: active public participation, accessibility, health promotion and chronic disease prevention & management, technology and innovation, cooperation and collaboration. Middle age: chronic diseases i. e. htn, diabetes, client education, prevention, screening, test for blood sugar and colon cancer (fobt) Elderly: prevention of falls, osteoporosis, htn. Cause viruses (rhinovirus) vs flu virus. Symptoms runny nose, cough, vs. cough (more severe), aches and pain, headache. Impact can"t go to work with flu, potentially fatal in elderly. Prevention vaccines for at risk population and exposed population. Flu can be acute and severe issue.
