Young, student bodies are already sexual and thus subject to regulation, control, and management: we sexualize young girls, but also fear their sexuality. Dress codes: often function to sexualize and to shame girls. How do competing discourses of the sexualized girl and the natural girl put girls at risk: there are choices to be made, and girls had better make the right ones. All advice for men/perpetrarots: no means no ; partner cannot legally consent to sexual activity when under the influence; do not use body language as an assumption; use open and clear communication. Sexting: it appears to be a major compliment to be asked for photos, but girls must also become proficient in negotiating requests . Girls are situated as morally responsible for protecting the virginal body from hard- wired aggressive male sexuality . Inherent responsibility is in the body in the image rather than, for instance, the agents of distribution . He gains and she loses respect.
