The situation i have a supply of some life-saving drug. Six people will all certainly die if they are not treated with the drug. But one of the six requires all of the drug if he is to survive. Each of the other five requires only one-fifth of the drug. An added fact- the one person who requires all of the drug to survive is a close friend of mine, david/ Variation 1 - david already has the drug. Taruek: david may keep the drug, because, he values his life more than others, he violates no one"s rights in keeping the drug, therefore, in the original situation, you may give the drug to david. Variation 2 - b may either spare c the loss of her life, or spare his arm. Variation 3 - as above, but the choice is between saving one and saving 50 (or more).
