Nozick thought: we are all born with rights and only a state that protects us from interference with other people is justified but anything more is too much interference. Things are complicated because people steal or break other"s things. Break someone"s fence, give them money to make up for it. These 4 principles are the only ones we need. Whatever we think marks the justice in an original problem (justice is me paying for breaking someone"s fence), we make rules and after they are complete there is nothing else to say. If something is just or not, depends on how you got it (not justice if you steal the money from the person who broke your fence) Nozick on justice: kinds of theories of justice. Aims to show that no end-state or distributional patterned principle of justice can be continuously realized without continuous interference with people"s lives. Chamberlain says he"d play basketball if everyone paid.
