Perhaps the problem with what we call passive euthanasia is the fact thaht the doctor intnentionally ceases treatment knowing that in so doing death is sure to result, and therefore intentionally allows them to die. It seems that the answer is no, since in these cases, as the ama document indicated, biological death is imminent. No, surely, everyone is going to die. Death is immanent for us, insofar as we are mortal creatures. But in these cases , death is imminent, that is, it is surely to happen very soon. A doctor has an obligation to take care of you. The docor has an obligation to give you the most appropriate type of care that you need.
