Hobbes recap: we need a state to avoid a war of all against all, road to war is generated by equality, scarcity of goods we require (food, shelter, etc. ), and uncertainty (anyone can be a threat: attack for gain, safety and reputation. The best defence is a good offence : natural right of liberty the right to do whatever it takes to preserve yourself (the right to someone"s body if necessary)
