Studies have shown that leadership tends to be linked in our minds w masculine traits such as strength, decisiveness and manliness women are unconsciously linked to gentleness, passivity, and care. When a woman assumes a leadership, unconscious stereotypes about leadership conflict w unconscious stereotypes about women. Unconscious mind reconciles the conflict by stripping women of their feminine, caring side. Unconscious/implicit bias: influences voters without their being aware of it; gender implications. Commodification: to turn or treat as a commodity, make commercial.
