Withi(cid:374) the polity, it"s the (cid:373)ost i(cid:373)porta(cid:374)t: produces the most economic wealth for the polity, creates leisure and free time to contemplate. If they are going to live the good life, they must live in a family: the ruler of the house should rule his family in their best interest, not his or hers own. In the household, you act properly to people who are not equal to us (the greeks), but you can still command them: village. A small group that is not completely equal. Not big enough to provide a good life: the polity= city. The city is big enough to provide all the needs that one might have. The polity is the place where the good life is possible. Need blank for the good life: agora: market place, port, temple, gymnasium, theatre. It is too big, so big that people lose the ability to be politically involved. Lose access to places to make political decisions.
