Jotted / scratch notes very brief notes to jog memory about events that should be written up more fully later. Little phrases, key words, quotes, etc: full field notes provide as much detail as possible about events, people, etc, field (cid:374)otes pri(cid:373)ar(cid:455) for eth(cid:374)ographer"s o(cid:449)(cid:374) use. Include comments on possible reactivity: analytic memos recording some initial thoughts on what all the observations mean. Link observations to concepts, theories that may apply: notes on data, not data notes must be kept separately to avoid influencing the data notes, rise of visual ethnography, research-driven images, used in at least three ways. Adam khimji: memory aids in course of fieldwork, as essential components or such as field notes, as sources of data in their own right, as prompts for discussion by research participants. Adam khimji: mirrors the processes that have subjugated and marginalized women throughout history.
