Biological factors: looking at what in the brain/body makes behavior happen. Individual & psychological factors: how someone grew up, learned behaviors, how someone thinks. Cultural & environmental factors: how culture determines how you might behave, different cultures value different behaviours, environmental factors (ex. Temperature, sounds, pollution) affect a person"s behaviour: these factors are not independent, they all influence each other, each factor is equally valid even though that have different perspectives. Psychology: the scientific study of behaviour and the mind (page 2) Psychodynamic: focus on unconscious experience (the mind) September 13th, 2016: look for unresolved conflict (freud what were your parents like? what was your childhood like? ) Importance of personality: modern examples, brief psychodynamic therapy, unconscious processing. Behaviourism: focus on behaviour (forget studying the mind because you cannot see it or measure it, discuss how behaviour changes under various conditions, primarily environmental, modern examples, learning theories, behaviour modification.
