Document Summary
Biological psychology examines biology in relation to behaviour. Typically investigates at the level of neurons (building blocks of the nervous system), neurotransmitters (chemicals realised by the neurons), brain circuitry and the basic biological process that underlie normal and abnormal behaviour wikipedia. Building blocks of the nervous system: billions of nerve cells called neurons. Stimulus receive information process send respond stimulus repeat: transmit and process information. Nervous system: the system that controls and regulates the structure and function of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and the nerve cells; it maintains coordination between the nervous system and the rest of the bodily systems. Central: is comprised of the brain and spinal cord. The cns receives sensory information from the nervous system and controls the body"s responses. The only sense that goes through your spinal cord it touch . Everything else goes through your brain (hearing, tasting, seeing and smelling) Peripheral: controls all voluntary and involuntary muscles and glands.
