Frequency distribution summarize and describe the characteristics of a set of scores show how many participants received each score. Mode: the average of the set of scores. Occasionally the mean is not an accurate representation of a data set because of extreme values or outliers. the point that divides the distribution in half when the individual scores are arranged in order from lowest to highest. Median: the most frequently occurring score in the distribution. Not affected by extreme scores, point above and below which there is an equal number of scores. Descriptive stats: summarize and describe characteristics of a set (or distribution) of data (or scores) Frequency distribution: representation of how many individuals received a particular score or belong to a particular category. Histogram: graphical rep of frequency distribution, provide general picture of how data is described. Range: highest lowest (only tells you about two scores) Variance: average of the squared deviation scores about the mean.
