What he found was that when people are challenged, and are able to meet the challenged, engaged in meeting the challenge,then you are in a state of flow. Soteriological saved from miserable human situation (literal meaning), states of consciousness have purpose. Can be anything, including sitting on a sofa eating chips. Noetic having knowledge, having knowledge of something now that an experience has occurred. 1) seeing in colour; imagine seeing in black and white, then seeing in colour and now trying to explain to people that you can see in colour.
