Lecture 5- the usual suspects: eyewitness testimony & accura cy. Robert ressler documentary the man who lives with monsters. His goal: to determine what is going on in the mind of a serial killer. John wayne gassey = the killer in the clown mask; one of the worst serial killers in usa history. Kept personal items of all of his victims (ex. trophies, jewelry, etc: most of evidence that the police found resembled an alter; all of it was on his dresser. Ressler found out about the case and wanted to go and talk to the police investigate the case because there was already a theory about serial killers (organized vs disorganized model) According to ressler = he would be classified as an organized killer planned out, premeditated and has targets. Because of this he told the police that there would probably be items kept by the serial killer to play victory.
