All the people they kill are about the same age, might look similar, bad home life while growing up, absent father: killer uses people to fulfill his passions and then kills them. Look for killing patterns, the way the killer murders his victims: ex. Found a young man who lived on an air force base: he was young, thinly built and had many detective magazines in his room, this was the killer. He was still sitting there on his bed. Little research has examined the model, but that which has raised doubts as to its validity: the model cannot account for offenders who display a mixture of organized and disorganized featurs - evident in dahmer case. Potential problems with profiling: criminal profiling is often criticized on the following grounds:
