She accomplished this with the help of a 2 year regimen of in-vitro fertilization (ivf) treatments, which include two failed attempts. In 1939, the youngest mother on record gave birth: a 5-year-old girl from a small village in the andes mountains gave birth to a baby. The girl had fully mature ovaries, possibly due to a pituitary hormonal disorder, and had been menstruating since before the age of one. One reason is to explore the issues of deciding whether or not to have children. For most people in the class, the major issue is likely how not to become involved with conception, pregnancy and childbirth.
