Comparing yourself to others, can affect pride/self-esteem, become a competition. Not a lot of evidence based research going on. May fill a gap in knowledge, learning from each other. Offer a lot of support others understand what you"re going through. Help parents appreciate the child and develop a network. Can either strengthen or break down partner relationships. Video - tips for running a successful parent support group. No parent supports group for those with children that are deaf. Felt good to connect and share common experiences.
