The action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil: god"s plans for the redemption of his world. A redemptive process wherein a loved object is freed from its closed and separated existence. The world opens itself when one loves it and thereby moves towards its fullest destiny: love is meant to be freeing, be liberating, closed open. Redemption, broadly conceived, is not simply recovery and restoration. It is also a sanctifying transformation: it is not easy to tell what love has achieved. There is a certain ambiguity and creativity: it is not always something that we know, love is more on the subjective side, it is something more sacred and divine. Idea that we somehow change perception when we watch movies. Example: stagecoach in 1939: the old westerns had a central couple (man falls in love with women, couple re-uniting and riding off into the sunset.
