Mass and volume: mass -> physical bulk, volume -> measurable amount of occupied space. Tectonic vs atectontic: tectonic -> mass and volume, ex: cube, atectontic -> spatial, ex: sculpture with more space than mass. Assignment: will take 2 weeks, bamboo head and neck sculpture. Material: 100 bamboo skewers, mdf base, extra glue stick, safety glasses, cutting knife, scissors, glue gun and glue stick, ruler sketchbook. Tips: put skewers in and the cut or make smaller cuts and then attach, 9 hours of work, try making shapes, ex: triangles. Different sizes: make the face first then the neck and work on connecting them together.
