Being too bound on dogmatic rules impedes creative writing creativity is good in moderation though. Not teaching people the rules produces inferior writers (bad writers) thus, important to know the rules of writing. Not demonstrating an understanding of the rules can portray sloppy thinking. Simple forms of communication is easy to pick apart. Keep goal of communication in mind (what are you trying to say and achieve) Key aspects: persuasion and identifying in achieving goals ethically. Must be concise, short, simple simple language that is clear. White space (between paragraphs) should be used with visuals. Grammatical rules are a little relaxed but need to be understood. Rhetorical situation consists of 5 things: text, purpose/reason for communication, author, setting, audience.
