Write a proposal much like a book proposal ask for guidelines. Ground research contact tourism departments, new listening, free passes, etc. Hire guides local perspective, friend in area (couchsurfing) Don"t spend time on places you won"t include process of elimination. Move fast not lingering (make quick decisions) Create itinerary and devise a system of organizing work. Currency (www. xe. com), safety, specific to area, transportation to region. Media kids, brochures, web sites read other guidebooks of the area. Today: print still popular, but easyguides 250 pages vs. 1000 pages. Higher end frommer"s, fodor"s (might not have hostels, etc)
