Subcortical (subconscious) brain structures: mesolimbic dopaminergic system. Cortical (conscious) areas of the brain: frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital cortices. Electicity: transduction occurs which changes environmental energy nerve impulses, transmission occurs when signals from the receptors travel to the brain, processing occurs during interactions among neurons in the brain. Experience & action: perception occurs as a conscious experience, recognition occurs when an object is placed in a cateogy giving it meaning, action when the perceiver initiates a motor activity in response to recognition.
