Perception is highly selective able to screen out outside noise fairly easily. Social perception combining info about others as a means of getting an accurate understanding of them helps us interact with them: personalityreflectiveofsomeone"sbehavior, firstthoughtisaninternaljudgementaboutthatperson unlessthereisstrong evidence contrary to that. Key idea: attribute behavior to characteristic or a situational event depends on how much info you have about the person / situation.
