General methods of knowledge: rationalism: the principle that some kinds of knowledge are innate and others can be acquired through reason, independent of experience, empiricism: that the knowledge is acquired only through experience. There is a paradigm shift, that believes we need to change our way of treating crime. Spain has co-op programs because people are being exposed to more opportunities and therefore the crime rate is decreasing. This can be a problem, because sometimes the groups consensus is not always. As a group, we can come to a consensus on the wrong idea. We only see one side of the fact.
