All the agencies & organizations involved in the prevention of and response to those involved with crime. Large # of cases vs. how many are put in prison. System of justice based on two opposing sides arguing the guilt/ innocence before a judge/ jury. Crown is obligated to do whats right ( the onus ) Presumption of innocence - innocent until proven guilty(france is opposite) Burden of proof - crown must prove guilt. Doli incapax - under 12 can not be found guilty. Insanity - grounds of knowing the act was wrong. Attempts - half the penalty for attempting but not completing. Orientation to criminal justice in which the protection of the community & the apprehension of offenders are paramount purpose - protection of the public.
