Bourgeoisie (capitalist class) vs. proletariat (working class) Proletariat sells capacity to perform work to capitalists. Exploitation workers don"t receive in return for their work, the full economic value that their time on the job generates. Bourgeoisie makes profit on the back of the working class. Employment is not so voluntary considering most of us have few options but to sell our capacity to work in order to survive. Capitalism is not just an economic system it is a system of social relationships the system that matters most is class. Relationship between a class of owners and a class of workers.
