Stories: started orally, continued to be written, can be interpreted differently across different cultures etc. Ritual is more interactive, transmission is more being told something in a one way sense. Ritualistic is more encoding/decoding take it as you will. Transmission is one way and is designed a certain way to be taken in a certain way. Ritual is between a smaller community gathered around similar interest: to increase size using transmission.
