Provide a contemporary example of communication as transmission. Like transporting ideas and giving information to other people. Transmission of signals or messages over distance for the purpose of control. Provide a contemporary example of communication as ritual. Not towards a space bias as much as a time bias. Construction of social norms certain social bias. Religion communion/fellowship in religion is a ritual that formed where ideas were shared: draws people together, two way form of communication, sharing of ideas. Stories: started orally, continued to be written, can be interpreted differently across different cultures etc. Ritual is more interactive, transmission is more being told something in a one way sense. Ritualistic is more encoding/decoding take it as you will. Transmission is one way and is designed a certain way to be taken in a certain way. Ritual is between a smaller community gathered around similar interest: to increase size using transmission.
