University/community - has an impact and able to erode some of the divide that exists between university and the community. Youth new underclass: class that is cut off from political, social and economic existence (understood to be personally accountable for all the hardships of being excluded from political, economic, social society) exclusions: obstacles to opportunities. Researcher = community based, permanent piece of community, equitable relations, centralizing the voice of the youth, letting the project that deeply celebrates voice, knowledge, expertis and community. When you are able listen to voice/knowledge in community, stigma can be eroded. Stigma gets in the way of finding compassionate support/facilitating the deep understanding and empathy. Looks at: possibilities that emerge when you tell a story through art dance. Formed a research team: 3 community experts, 3 students.
