Soft interactivity versus hard interactivity hard interactivity includes community, playing games together. Books and movies are not really activities you can participate in with another person. Story = consists of the action and characters, and proceeds forward in the (i. e. , what is told) Narrative = the developed rendering of a story, including choice of narrator, perspective (point of view), dialogue and/or monologue formats, temporal arrangement, etc. (what plus how it is told) Wuthering heights does not start at the beginning, for example. In 13th warrior, the story starts with a flashback. The earliest part of the flashback is the beginning of the story, however that is not the first event presented. Characters and setting are part of story, along with the forward passage of time. Narrative includes the point of view of our poet, the retroactive story telling. The subtitles become part of the narrative because it includes how we receive the movie.
