Fairy tales come out of oral tradition and have been around a long time; since before there was the written word, precede middle ages and even biblical times. There is no single author of any fairy tale. There is no fixed or final version of any fairy tale. They have been in circulation for thousands of years and told in many different ways with many different titles. Tend not to refer to fairy tales but fairy types snow white, red ridinghood, cinderella, etc. are fairy types. The fairy types showed up in different cultures; they sprang up independently in different parts of the world that had not met before; they all had similar stories. In hansel and gretel, there are two heroes: the heroes might meet friends along the way but once they have made use of them, they go along, they are always about real life and real concerns.
