Syuzhet: the selection and ordering of the actions explicitly presented on screen. Fabula: the chronological narrative in its entirety, that implicitly stands behind the events depicted. Act two: complications, problems arise, often caused by the antagonist climax. Act three: action leading to resolution and the denouement, or results. Four-part structure: exposition: intro of pro- and antagonists and their world. Initial turning point: complicating action: does not lead directly to climax, but to another. Major turning point halfway through: development: character must change goals or face additional struggles. Instead of cause-effect structure and build to climax, presents a series of episodes. In comedy and animation shorts, episodes may be a series of gags. Wile e. coyote and roadrunner in the fast and the furry-ous (jones, 1949) Repetition and anticipations is used as a narrative structure.
