Why geography matters: human geography is about finding out the interdependence among places and regions, places: geographic settings with physical social and cultural attributes, regions: territories that encompass many places, geography encourages multiculturalism, feminism, local and national development. Why places matter: human geography: the study of spatial organization of human activity and peoples relationship with the environment, people do not know why places are the way they are or their significance. The influence of places: places are dynamic, change properties and product of a wide variety of environmental and human factors, places provide the setting for which people live. It is in these setting people learn to behave and act the way they do, social relations: places influence people, for better or for worse. Spatial analysis: study of many geographic phenomena that can be arragned in lines areas or surfaces on a map, location, distance, space, accessibility, and spatial interaction are five concepts that are key to spatial analysis.
