Document Summary

Flexor pollicis longus: pollic thumb, origin middle half of anterior surface of the radius and adjacent interosseous membrane (all of the deep layer) Insertion on base of distal phalanx of thumb: changes direction once it passes flexor ernakulum. Innervation median nerve: action flex distal phalanx of thumb. Pronator quadratus (sometime a fourth layer: origin distal of ulna, action pronate forearm/hand with pronator teres. Radial nerve: posterior side of forearm and arm. Brachioradialis: origin anterior lateral supercondylar ridge of humerus and lateral intermuscular septum of arm. Insertion lateral side of distal end of radius. Innervation radial nerve: action flexion of forearm at elbow. Extensor carpi radialis longus: origin lateral supracondylar ridge of humerus, lateral intermuscular septum, and lateral epicondyle (common extensor tendon) Innervation radial nerve: action extension of hand at wrist and radial deviation (with flexor carpi radialis) Extensor carpi radialis brevis: origin lateral epicondyle, intermuscular septa and antibrachial fascia.
